7 Easy Ways to be a Supportive Partner.

This photo was totally not planned. I was in the middle of a photo shoot and my photographer captured a moment in time. My sweet husband, supporting me by filming some shots for an upcoming look book over on my channel. I am completely convinced that when people say a picture is worth a thousand words, it truly is. But, to me, this photo captured one word. Support. Which in turn, inspired this post for today. Here are some easy ways for you to show genuine support to your Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Spouse.

Be present in the moment.

Sometimes we can get so "caught up", that everything around us becomes tuned out, even a conversation with our significant other. To this I say, be present, its simple. Put the phone down for two seconds, that IG photo isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Make eye contact and show that you are all there.

Show enthusiasm.

I know I know, life is busy, hard, overwhelming.. blah, blah, blah. But this person chose YOU! Thats a very special place in their life. The least you can do is show a little enthusiasm for the things that interest them. It may not be the most exciting thing but wouldn't you want that same energy when you talk about what interest you?

Listen to the crazy ideas.

This is a funny one. My husband and I are both VERY creative minded people and we're always coming up with some crazy ideas. So what if there crazy, they're just ideas. Listen to the crazy ideas that your partner has, even if they sound completely ridiculous. Often times we shut down things of the imagination so fast that it ends up crippling creativity. So what we do is talk it out and end up realizing that maybe that wasn't a good idea after all. ha! But you would have not known that if you just simply didn't listen.

Be the #1 Fan.

I am my husband's #1 fan. I'm talking president of the fan club, first like on FB, ride or die type of fan. I love to be his cheerleader and praise him any chance I get. This absolutely goes both ways.

Inspire.

As humans in general, we can get caught up in a rut. Have creative blocks, just not feeling motivated. Here's where that balance between you and your partner need to shine. No matter what, Im sorry, but you both cannot be going through at the same, lol! No really. If one is down, the other one needs to step up and be the inspiration. Push them, inspire them to pursue the things that they set out to FINISH.

Challenge.

No one should be living a lazy life. You only get one life, and I am a firm believer in living the BEST life. With that being said, challenging each other is so healthy for the relationship. When I say challenge, I mean work hard, go after those goals you set up for yourself; but also challenge your partner to finish those tasks and pursue those goals.

Be Caring.

This one is really self explanatory. Care for one another. This is such a pivotal part of being a supportive spouse, and I also feel like it wraps everything into one.
